The list of GIs recognized and protected by the European Union and Mexico has been revised and corrected.
In compliance with the article number 18 of the Agreement signed in 1997 between the European Union and the United States of Mexico, on the mutual recognition and protection of names in the spirit drinks sector and following the modification of Annex III of Reg. 110/2008 which has eliminated some IG (ie Grappa di Marsala), the list has now been modified and perfected.
In this case the intervention of AssoDistil, in cooperation with OriGin, was essential, since it continues its action of protection and control of Italian GIs in Europe and in the world, also through monitoring and intervention in the context of international agreements protection that are an indispensable tool for a commercial policy projected to foreign markets.
